Kimbilio

At our PCC meeting in May 2020 we approved forming a link with Kimbilio project: The Congo Children Trust.  This has come about because of our friendship with Ian Harvey, who was on placement with us a couple of years ago.  Ian came back recently to speak about the invaluable work they do in the D. R. Congo.

But here’s an outline of the work they do.

The Congo Children Trust’s vision is to improve the quality of life for children living on the streets in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Congo Children Trust is established to work through partner organisations and projects in the D.R.Congo to support street children.  98% of the funds raised by the Congo Children Trust go directly to Kimbilio, currently our only partner project in Lubumbashi, D.R.Congo.  Funds raised are used to provide much needed food, education, health care, and construction costs, as well as to support the team of committed and experienced workers in D.R.Congo.  The Congo Children Trust appreciates the assistance of a variety of individuals, Churches and organisations who have offered their professional skills voluntarily in the areas of accounting, graphic design, publicity and fundraising activities.   As the Congo Children Trust continues to expand, there are increasing opportunities and activities in which we need support.   If you feel you have experience, skills and time to offer to CCT in order to assist us to achieve our aims please do get in touch. The Trust is administered and managed by four Trustees who give their time voluntarily to the development of the charity.

We have committed to support the work of Kimbilio financially and through our prayers.  Please have a word with Anne if you would like to know more.

Here’s a short film illustrating their work:
